When Standing Up Feels Like Too Much

Imagine your heart racing, your vision narrowing, and your energy dropping—just from standing up. For people living with POTS(Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), this isn’t occasional. It’s daily life.

POTS is a form of dysautonomia, meaning the autonomic nervous system isn’t regulating things like heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation the way it should. When someone with POTS moves from lying down to standing, their heart rate spikes—often dramatically—without the usual stabilization.

The results can include:

Because these symptoms can be inconsistent and hard to measure in a quick visit, many patients go years without answers. They’re often told it’s anxiety—or that everything “looks normal.”

But POTS is real. And it’s increasingly recognized.

At NW Regen, our focus is on understanding the whole picture—not just managing symptoms.

We identify the contributing factors, which may include:

  • Nervous system imbalance
  • Circulatory challenges
  • Inflammation
  • Hormonal shifts
  • Post-viral effects

POTS Treatment is NOT one-size-fits-all.
The goal isn’t just to help you “cope.”

It may include hydration strategies, targeted supplementation, physical reconditioning, and therapies that support nervous system regulation.

At NW Regen, our goal is to help your body respond more appropriately to everyday demands—so standing up, walking through your day, and participating in life feel possible again.  For some patients, addressing the nervous system directly through approaches like SGB (Stellate Ganglion Block) can also play a role in improving symptoms.
