Billing FAQs

Please see below for answers to your questions about billing & how to prepare for your first visit.

Is Regenerative Medicine covered by my insurance?

Since interventional orthopedic and orthobiologic medicine is not typically a covered specialty:

  • NW Regen is a cash-pay practice.
  • We are not preferred providers with any insurance company.
  • We do not accept Med-Pay or accident insurance.
  • We do accept HSA and FSA.
  • We do not accept Care Credit at this time.

We DO provide you with Superbills that contain a breakdown of procedures performed, all diagnostic coding, and any documentation you may need to submit to your insurance provider.

We do not guarantee our services will be reimbursed, but if you have out-of-network benefits with your plan, we encourage you to submit your claim. You may be able to get some partial repayment. Out of respect to our staff and their time, however, we ask that follow-up requests be extremely limited and that you handle as much as possible on your own.

Is Primary Care covered by insurance?
Dr. Moehle is an ‘in network’ provider with the major Oregon insurance companies of:

  • Regence/BCBS
  • Providence
  • Aetna
  • Pacific Source
  • Medicaid Open Card

If you do not have any of these 5 insurance companies, your plan doesn’t include Naturopathic coverage, or you are not planning to use insurance, we will operate on a cash-pay basis and fees will range based on time and complexity of the visit. Prior to your visit, please confirm with your carrier that you have Naturopathic coverage, as not all plans do.

How to prepare and what to expect on your first visit with Dr. Moehle:

Before your first visit, we ask that you complete our new patient forms online and gather all of your pertinent records. If you intend to use insurance, please confirm with your carrier AHEAD of time that your plan includes Naturopathic benefits.

Your first appointment will usually be about an hour long. During that time, Dr. Moehle will review your health history and listen to your story.

This time is important for laying the groundwork for your treatment plan and understanding what factors have contributed to your current health concerns.

This is also a time for you to ask any questions and discuss your goals. Dr. Moehle will often order labs, when appropriate, at this visit and send you home with the first steps in your treatment plan.

How to prepare and what to expect for your first visit with Dr. Wood:

Before your first visit, we ask that you complete our new patient forms online. Also, gather all of your pertinent records and any imaging reports or DVDs to bring with you on your first visit.

A first office visit lasts approximately 1.5 hours and includes a review of any imaging you brought and a history of your condition. We’ll discuss the conditions for which you are seeking care. Next, Dr. Wood will perform a focused, physical exam using musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound and map out a comprehensive plan of care. If labs and/or further imaging orders are required, Dr. Wood will place those, as well as recapping recommended next steps.

If you choose to proceed, we will schedule your treatments accordingly at this time.

Our goal is to provide the best evidence-based and informed medicine to treat our patients. We believe that taking the time to educate and empower you with knowledge about your condition will help give you the best results possible. Your condition is yours to control; it should never be a mystery! The right knowledge and understanding can help you take back your life.
