Dr. Ryan Wood is the Founder and Clinical Director of NW Regen and an interventional physician specializing in regenerative orthopedics, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and autonomic nervous system therapies. With nearly two decades of clinical experience, he has developed a specialty practice that attracts patients from throughout the Pacific Northwest, across the United States, and internationally for advanced regenerative orthopedics, peripheral nerve disorders, complex spine disorders, and autonomic medicine. His practice combines advanced diagnostic imaging, precision image-guided intervention, orthobiologic therapies, and autonomic nervous system procedures to diagnose and treat complex musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders.
His clinical focus includes regenerative orthopedics, complex spine disorders—including craniocervical instability (CCI) and upper cervical ligament injuries—peripheral nerve disorders, connective tissue disorders (including hypermobility syndromes), and disorders of the autonomic nervous system, including PTSD, PTSI, dysautonomia, POTS, and Long COVID. Patients from throughout the Pacific Northwest, across the United States, and internationally seek Dr. Wood’s expertise for complex musculoskeletal, neurologic, connective tissue, and autonomic disorders requiring advanced diagnostic evaluation and precision ultrasound-guided intervention. Dr. Wood holds the Registered in Musculoskeletal Sonography (RMSK) credential, a nationally recognized certification in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound. Advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound is central to his practice, guiding both accurate diagnosis and precision image-guided treatment. He utilizes a comprehensive range of orthobiologic therapies—including Prolotherapy, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), and Autologous Micro-Fragmented Adipose Tissue (MFAT) grafting—to restore function, reduce pain, and optimize the body’s natural healing capacity.
Dr. Wood has developed particular expertise in the diagnosis and regenerative treatment of complex spine disorders, craniocervical instability, peripheral nerve entrapments, and autonomic nervous system disorders. Utilizing advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound, Digital Motion X-ray (DMX), and precision image-guided regenerative procedures, he evaluates and treats the intricate ligamentous, fascial, neural, and joint structures of the craniovertebral junction while also managing complex musculoskeletal conditions throughout the body.
Dr. Wood has performed more than 3,000 Stellate Ganglion Blocks (DSR-SGB), placing him among the most experienced physicians performing this procedure worldwide. He has extensive experience treating PTSD, PTSI, dysautonomia, POTS, Long COVID, post-concussion syndromes, and other disorders involving autonomic nervous system dysfunction. He continues to advance the field through the development and refinement of ultrasound-guided techniques in perineural hydrodissection, sympathetic nervous system modulation, regenerative injection therapies, and image-guided autonomic interventions.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Wood is committed to advancing the field through physician education, clinical research, and scholarly publication. He is a recurring invited lecturer and instructor for the Hackett Hemwall Patterson Foundation (HHPF), where he teaches advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound, regenerative orthopedics, and precision image-guided interventional procedures. He is also a frequent invited lecturer for the European School of Prolotherapy and Regenerative Medicine (ESPRM), where he teaches regenerative medicine, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, and advanced injection techniques. He lectures nationally and internationally on regenerative orthopedics, craniocervical instability, peripheral nerve interventions, autonomic nervous system therapies, and precision ultrasound-guided procedures.
Dr. Wood is actively engaged in clinical research and scholarly publication. His research focuses on regenerative orthopedics, ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve interventions, and autonomic nervous system therapies, with ongoing clinical studies evaluating novel ultrasound-guided approaches for PTSD, PTSI, and related autonomic disorders.
