What is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)?
BHRT is used to treat a multitude of symptoms and health consequences of hormonal imbalance. Most often, this treatment is used to mitigate symptoms of menopause, however BHRT can benefit both men and women at various stages of life. BHRT is available as patches, pills, injectables, pellets, and creams.

Am I too old for BHRT?
Research demonstrates the most benefit for women is close to menopause as possible. However, if you are further than 10 years past menopause, this is a conversation to have with your provider.
What is hormone 'pellet' therapy, specifically?
Small pellets are inserted subcutaneously under the skin during a simple and quick office procedure. These pellets are purely hormones – no additional additives. They will slowly dissolve in the body and release hormones at steady levels.
Most women will need to replace their pellets every 3-4 months, while men typically will replace them every 4-6 months.
